Backpacking into the Enchantments

Permits for the upper Core Enchantments are difficult to obtain in the spring lottery, and we often spend the night on Lake Colchuck (which is easier to win permits) and make the steep hike up Aasgard Pass early the next morning and explore for the day, returning back down to camp on Colchuck another night. Aasgard Pass is considered a climber's path and sharply rises in elevation from Lake Colchuck, rated strenuous.
